Why We Do It This Way
Allen's Flowers & Plants is a family-owned San Diego florist. We have been voted "Best Florist" thirteen times by readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune and have served San Diego County since 1980. Within our local delivery area, every arrangement is designed in-house by our team in Linda Vista and hand-delivered by an Allen's driver — we do not ship flowers in a box from a fulfillment center, and local orders are never routed through a third-party call center or order gatherer.
For destinations outside our delivery area, we take a different approach than national flower delivery services. Rather than shipping a boxed arrangement across the country or pretending to be a local florist in a city where we don't operate, we partner directly with a trusted local floral shop in the recipient's area. Their designers work with their freshest, locally-sourced flowers to create your arrangement, and their drivers hand-deliver it. We limit non-local orders to Designer's Choice style because it gives the local florist the creative freedom to work with their best inventory rather than attempting to exactly replicate a specific design from our catalog — which produces a far better final arrangement than any national service sending a boxed shipment.
This approach means a real local florist is designing and hand-delivering the arrangement to your recipient, no matter where in the country they are. It is the closest thing to having Allen's deliver it ourselves — and it is always transparent.
