Serving San Diego Since 1980
When Max Allen Levy and his wife Marilyn opened their first flower stand on a bustling corner in El Cajon in 1980, they couldn't have foreseen the incredible journey ahead. What began as a small family business has blossomed into one of San Diego's most beloved florists.
Max's passion for quality, creativity, and personal service helped Allen's Flowers grow from a humble stand to the city's premier florist. He was a leader in supporting local flower farmers, ensuring the freshest blooms for his customers. Even as the company expanded, Max was known for personally delivering arrangements, ensuring that personal touch was always part of the Allen's Flowers experience.
Today, Max's legacy continues through his son, Brad Levy, who now leads the company. In 2016, Sam Bowles joined Allen's as General Manager after building a national reputation as an industry expert in five-star customer experiences. Today Sam runs Allen's alongside Brad, bringing the same obsession with personal service that defined Max's original stand to every part of the modern business.
Allen's has grown to six retail locations across San Diego County — Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, La Mesa, El Cajon, Chula Vista, and Escondido — including one near the original stand, plus our design and operations studio in Linda Vista. We proudly serve customers both locally and worldwide through our online platform. Recognized as an industry leader, we've been named a top 100 florist in the U.S. and voted "Best Florist in San Diego" thirteen times by readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune — more than any other florist in the region.
Our relationships with local hotels, caterers, and venues, including the San Diego Convention Center, showcase our dedication to quality and service as we continue to be a preferred florist for many prestigious events.
With over 45 years of experience, Allen's Flowers is committed to providing the freshest, most beautiful floral arrangements and memorable experiences. We're honored to be San Diego's best florist and look forward to many more years of serving our community.
